MotoGP ace Cal Crutchlow labelled heroic after career-threatening injury | MotoGP news results drivers race and qualifying MotoGP latest - Daily Star

The British ace bagged a place on the podium after finishing behind Andrea Dovizioso and Marc Marquez.

Dovizioso, 32, just pipped the Spaniard to the line in a pulsating finish.

Crutchlow wasn’t far behind the duo which was all the more impressive given his career-threatening ankle break.

The LCR Honda star missed the final three races of last season after a horror crash in practice at Phillip Island.

The calendar heads to Argentina next.

MotoGP’s elite will lock horns at the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo circuit on March 31.

Hopkins reckons Crutchlow will be a serious contender after triumphing there 12 months ago.

“He’s heading to a track now that he’s also very fond of and is full of confidence,” he added.

“So, I mean he’s definitely going to be one to watch in Argentina and throughout the rest of the season.

“I believe the doctors told him he was possibly going to struggle to walk for the rest of his career.

“To come back from that, I know just how hard it was and hats off.

“I think Crutchlow will be really strong going into Argentina.”
