Racing on four wheels kicked off at the Australian Grand Prix this morning.

The MotoGP season, meanwhile, had its curtain raiser in Qatar last week.

The F1 showpiece wasn’t a close affair. Valtteri Bottas dominated after overtaking world champion team-mate Lewis Hamilton and cruised to victory.

Andrea Dovizioso won the MotoGP last week, but it was a nail biting finish with the Italian just pipping Marc Marquez to the line.

Patrick Farrance, who is a FIM Sidecar World Champion and three-time Isle of Man TT, took to Twitter and highlighted the difference between MotoGP and F1.

He wrote: “#MotoGP #F1 results from the 1st races of 2019. Which is more entertaining? You decide…#PureEntertainment vs #BorFest”

Hamilton was a staggering 20 seconds behind Bottas in Australia.

In contrast, Dovizioso only beat Marquez by 0.023 seconds in Qatar.

In the aftermath of the first MotoGP race of the season, there was:

Speaking after the race, Bottas couldn’t hide his delight at an emphatic victory.

"I've never had a race like this with such a lead,” he told Sky Sports .

“I just had a really good feeling with the car today.

"I could've gone quicker in qualifying and in the end I couldn't but Lewis could, but overall it's today that matters.

"Your brain tricks you and says it's easy, but it isn't.

“There are so many things that can go wrong especially when you have that gap with you team-mate.

"For sure it's not easy, what I have personally if you have big goals and you definitely fail to achieve those and you're way behind, it's difficult; for your performance level to come back from that it took time.

“Over Christmas and new year I wasn't feeling good at all, but in January I began to feel better and started to get back on it."
