Vinales has become the first rider to sign for the 2021 and 2022 MotoGP seasons by agreeing an early contract extension with Yamaha - before 2020 pre-season testing has even begun.
The Spaniard joins only Avintia Ducati's Rabat in being announced as having a seat beyond the end of this year.
The Vinales deal could now prompt rival manufacturers to accelerate their own contract negotiations, while Yamaha already has the security of knowing their most successful rider since 2017 is locked in place.
But who will join him?
The current MotoGP team/rider contract list is shown below and will be updated as each place on next year's grid is filled.
