Maverick Vinales took pole position at the VisitQatar Grand Prix at the Losail Circuit on Saturday, and looking on was a very familiar face in F1 defending Champion Lewis Hamilton.
The British driver was spotted in the paddock as qualifying continued in an intense spell of action in Qatar, and Hamilton was clearly enjoying his time among the best motorcycle riders in the world.
The cameras continually cut to Lewis enjoying himself out in the middle, and his excitement was palpable in a post-race interview.
What’s Lewis Hamilton doing at the Qatar GP?
Hamilton clearly enjoys MotoGP and has a lot of respect for the riders who risk their lives for an extra bit of speed, similar to the Mercedes driver himself.
An invitee of the new Petronas Yamaha Sepang team, perhaps we can expect more of Hamilton as the MotoGP 2019 season continues.
As for his own sport, the multi-time Champion will be hopeful of another strong season with Mercedes as the F1 season begins later this month with the Australian Grand Prix.
