The British superstar is in action at the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday as he looks to defend his F1 title.

But this time last week he was getting an insight into life on two wheels following a meet and greet with Valentino Rossi, Franco Morbidelli and Quartararo.

Hamilton was snapped chewing the fat with veteran superstar Rossi.

The 34-year-old also took time out to share his expertise with up-and-coming Petronas SRT stars Quartararo and Morbidelli.

“F1 ace Lewis Hamilton met MotoGP stars last week”

Quartararo - who finished 16th in Qatar - says he’ll be cheering Hamilton on.

"I am really happy to have met a person who has been my idol in Formula One for years, and especially to be able to swap helmets with him,” he said.

"I would love to make it to an F1 Grand Prix, I am a big fan of the series and I try not to miss a single race.

"Lewis Hamilton is a great driver, with a sixth sense for the right line, speed, braking… I am sure he would love it on a motorcycle too.

"I wish him the best of luck for his season."

Hamilton has admitted he’s always fancied his chance on a motorbike.

"I've always been passionate about motorcycles since I was a kid, not everyone knows it, but I've always liked the two wheels in addition to cars,” Hamilton told Sky Italia.

“I had a cross bike when I was young, I trained with bikes in 2017 and 2018 and I had a lot of fun, but I was not so fast.

“In any case, if I was not involved with Formula 1, I would have to try somewhere with the bikes.

“To switch to the bike? I think about it, but it's very difficult.”

After meeting Hamilton, Rossi posted on Instagram: “Great to have my mate @lewishamilton in the box before the race for an interesting chat about passion and Motorsport.”

The MotoGP calendar resumes in Argentina on March 31.
