As part of the build-up towards the Sepang MotoGP pre-season test, the Suzuki Ecstar team unveils its 2020 GSX-RR and livery.
Alex Rins and Joan Mir will return to action tomorrow at the three-day Sepang test but before that they have pulled off the covers on Suzuki’s 2020 challenger which debuted with test rider Sylvain Guintoli at the Sepang shakedown earlier this week.
The new blue and silver look is inspired by Suzuki's first-ever world title when Ernst Degner won the1962 50cc world championship on the Suzuki RM62.

The Spanish pair form an unchanged race rider line-up for Suzuki this season, as the Hamamatsu factory aims to build on the progress produced last year.
Rins secured two wins for Suzuki, at Circuit of the Americas and Silverstone, along with a one further podium at Jerez to charge to fourth place in the 2019 MotoGP riders’ world championship.
Rookie team-mate Mir impressed on his adaptation year in the premier class, despite an injury setback which forced him to miss the Austrian and British rounds, as he went on to take 12th place in the final riders’ standings with the highlight of fifth place at Phillip Island.
Suzuki is aiming to close the performance gap with greater consistency against its front-running MotoGP rival manufacturers with its 2020-specificaiton engine thought to deliver greater power and top speed. The trio of Suzuki riders will look to finalise the engine specification and gel it with updated chassis options to retain the GSX-RR’s strengths in cornering and corner speeds.
The Petronas Yamaha team launch takes place later today (17:30 local time) at Sepang before the Malaysian circuit hosts the official pre-season test on February 7-9.
