The Doctor has endured a challenging few months with the MotoGP calendar now at the halfway mark.
He finished an underwhelming eighth at the German Grand Prix earlier this month.
Nevertheless, it was a marked improvement on the previous three races.
Rossi had failed to finish in Mugello, Catalonia and Assen.

Despite the season’s challenges, Rossi looked relaxed in a candid snap from Novello.
The Italy-based model was caught on camera in a romantic clinch with the 40-year-old superstar.
She added the caption: “I love you Valentino Rossi.”
Fans were quick to post their comments.
“I call dibs on Rossi too,” one Instagram user joked. “Even though he didn’t say i love you too.”
Another added: “How beautiful you are together!”

Rossi has once again been wrestling with his Yamaha M1 this season.
Prior to the clash at the Sachsenring, Rossi joked about his bike being more like Novello than his mother.
"I think, unfortunately, the relationship with the bike is more like with your girlfriend than with your mother because, normally, your mother always says yes to everything," he quipped.
"She is always willing to help you with everything you need and with the girlfriend it's harder.
"Sometimes it's okay, but sometimes it's harder to manage.
"With the bike it's more like this, we've improved the pace, but it's not great.
"So I would say, right now, the relationship is not fantastic, it will have to be seen."
The MotoGP calendar will resume in the Czech Republic on August 4.
Marc Marquez is the runaway leader championship leader with an enormous 58 point lead.
