Cal Crutchlow, Fabio Quartararo and Takaaki Nakagami all battled through the pain at the Sachsenring today.
Crutchlow suffered a freak injury earlier this week.
He damaged his right ACL and fractured his tibia after slipping on a cobbled street when cycling.
Standard ACL recovery takes seven to nine months, but Crutchlow will race this weekend and looked very solid throughout the Saturday sessions.

Quartararo, meanwhile, suffered a serious shoulder injury but kept pushing.
The rookie will now start on the front row just behind Marc Marquez.
Crutchlow’s team-mate, Nakagami, has also been in the wars.
He was involved in a high-speed crash with Valentino Rossi last week and cannot walk without crutches.
The 27-year-old will be 10th on the grid tomorrow.
Perry posted on Twitter: “It’s now easier to say who isn’t injured in Motogp - some superhero performances today @takanakagami30 @FabioQ20 @calcrutchlow.”
Speaking yesterday, Crutchlow explained that only limited treatment is allowed on his damaged knee.
“I expected it to be worse, the swelling has gone up since yesterday,” he said.
“But I’m not allowed to have the fluid drained off it.
“Well, it’s blood in the knee and I agree with it because it’s a no needle policy in our sport on race weekends.
“I’m trying to ice it and get the fluid and the blood out of the joint.
“Honestly on the bike it’s not too bad. I can bend it well enough around the corners and I don’t really feel it too much.
“A few times in Turn 3, where it’s really tight, I don’t feel too comfortable.”
