The Catalan finished second last time out in Mugello but had a challenging weekend.
Marquez had been struggling to recover from an illness and took time to find his stride.
During the race he faced massive competition from Ducati duo Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Dovizioso.
Petrucci, 28, was the eventual race winner having never won a Grand Prix previously.
Marquez remains top of the pile in the championship standings but has Dovizioso breathing down his neck.
With Jorge Lorenzo floundering, all of Honda’s hopes are pinned on the prodigious superstar.
MotoGP insider Simon Crafar says Marquez is keeping the Japanese factory afloat.
“Honda would be in trouble without him,” Crafar told MotoGP.com after the action at Mugello.
“Otherwise Ducati would have got first, second and third without Marc Marquez.
“He’s absolute class. But also if you look at the lap times he was doing.
“It’s so consistent. Like a machine - and like what Lorenzo used to do. You can’t take anything away from him, he’s just absolute class.”
