The Spaniard is having a season to forget following a series of dismal displays.
Lorenzo has been recovering from injuries but can’t get to grips with the Honda RC213V.
It’s a familiar story after the 32-year-old struggled to adapt after leaving Yamaha for Ducati in 2017.
The Bologna-based factory eventually cut Lorenzo loose after losing patience.

He told GPone: “In previous years I was able to lead the race for the first few laps, but then I started to struggle physically.
“I’m struggling in terms of speed now, much more than I did with Ducati.
“I’m talking about sheer speed, not making a comparison with Marquez.
“My aim is not to match Marc, seeing as he significant experience with the the bike - seven years of experience.
“Rather, I need to move closer to Crutchlow, perhaps that’s more realistic.”

Lorenzo is regarded as a MotoGP legend having triumphed in the premier class on three occasions.
He admits it’s challenging not being a serious contender.
“When you’ve won a lot in the past it’s difficult to accept being far from the frontrunners," Lorenzo added.
“It was like that in Ducati and it’s like it again now.
“But I want to continue to work and try to be positive.
“I can say that I’m understanding a great deal about how to change my style, using my head and experience.”
