MotoGP news: Johann Zarco issues grovelling climbdown after describing bike as ‘c**p’ - Daily Star - Daily Star

The 28-year-old moved to KTM last year after a two-year affiliation with Yamaha satellite team Tech 3.

He’d consistently performed well on an M1 and bagged two sixth-place finishes overall in 2018 and 2017 respectively.

However, it hasn’t been plain sailing for the Frenchman this season.

He’s currently on a meagre seven points after a series of dismal performances.

“We continue to collect small improvements”

Johann Zarco

Zarco finished 14th last time out in Jerez but was a staggering 26.7 seconds behind race winner Marc Marquez.

After struggling in free practice, he said to French media outlet Canal: "Our chassis and power delivery are c**p.”

However, after the showpiece in Andalusia, Zarco issued a grovelling climbdown.

He wrote on Instagram: "Hello everyone, I just got back from Jerez, where on Sunday I ran in the grand prize, in which I finished in 14th position.

“From Monday until Wednesday I had a test and while I was coming home I read a lot of things It's normal, on Friday I was really angry after my accident and I said a lot of ugly things, KTM is doing its best to do a good job and I'm also pushing hard, but the moment what we are going through is difficult for everyone.

“We continue to collect small improvements and have prepared the Grand Prix of France.

“Now, we have a new Frenchman on the grid, Fabio (Quartararo), who is going very strong. That's why it will be very nice to meet our French fans. See you.”
