The Spaniard is floundering at Honda this season and things failed to improve in Andalusia.
Lorenzo has decent record in his homeland, but the 32-year-old was completely anonymous throughout the encounter and never looked like a serious podium contender.
His poor performance at the Spanish Grand Prix was the fourth race in a row where he's been unable to hit top gear.
Lorenzo was poor in the March Qatar curtain raiser. He also accidentally hit the pit limiter in Argentina and then suffered mechanical failure in Austin.
“MotoGP hero Jorge Lorenzo is struggling at Honda”
"I expected him to have a great performance in Jerez and it went well until qualifying, when something happened," Nomura told Marca.
The update could be concerning for Lorenzo who was ditched by Ducati after initially struggling to get used to the Desmosedici.
And, with Lorenzo now in the twilight of his career, positive results need to come sooner rather than later.
Nomura, however, claimed he still has faith in his beleaguered star.
He added: "I think he will do well in the next races, he has some points to improve and in others he has already done so.
"In fact, in the test we have brought several things just for him."

- Lorenzo trolled on social media
To cap off a dismal few days for Lorenzo, the experienced ace crashed during testing on Monday.
“Today we were able to do a lot of laps and try many things,” Lorenzo said.
“This was important for us as we are still trying to catch up on the time we missed testing at the start of the season.
“We found some interesting things for races to come. The day was upset by two crashes.
“It isn’t how we wanted to end the test with a crash. I am OK, sore but OK.
“Thank you to the Repsol Honda Team and HRC engineers for working hard all weekend and today during the test.”
