The five-time world champion made a surprise switch to Honda having signed for the Japanese team midway through last season.
The Spaniard eventually made things click at former team Ducati during his last six months, but prior to that had struggled with the Italians.
It is no secret that the 31-year-old considered leaving the sport but a return to winning ways at Mugello bought about a renaissance.
Now looking to begin his 12th Moto GP season Lorenzo concedes results will decide his fate but his “intention” is to call it quits at Honda.
When speaking to Sky Sports Italy he said: “I won't say that I'd like to finish my career with Honda, but maybe it is my last team. The results will decide, but that is my intention.
“I never gave up, even in the difficult times I always kept working, I had this chance with Honda, which allowed for a happy ending to the (2018) season.
“I don't think about Ducati anymore.
“I know that when I like the bike and we put it in the right place, we can reach the top.”
Lorenzo went winless for over 18 months following his departure from Yamaha in 2016.
However his win in Mugello was backed up at Barcelona and Spielberg and he was in contention to mount a late surge up the standings before injury in Aragon put pay to his chances.
The Spaniard will now look to add to his three Moto GP world championships on a bike that has won in five of the last six years.
Those five have all been won by new team-mate Marc Marquez who will once gain be favourite to retain his title.
The season begins in early March with the teams visiting the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.
