That’s according to former Ducati star turned BT Sport pundit Neil Hodgson who says the Italian still lives for the sport.
Yamaha superstar Rossi is now 39-years-old and shows little sign of letting up.
Hodgson says the Italian is not like any rider he’s ever come across before.
“Rossi is different to anyone in the world I’ve ever met,” he told Starsport.
“He’s the ultimate Peter Pan. He’s never grown up - at all.
“He left school and was then a professional from the age of 16.
“But he was travelling with his dad, best mate and has never been married or had kids.
“His life is, not like a child because that sounds disrespectful, but as riders get older your responsibilities in life change.

“He hasn’t. So he’s 39, but he’s not. It’s like he’s 29.
“As long as he’s enjoying what he’s doing - and it’s the whole lifestyle not just the racing - the racing result is the drug.
“For him to get his fix he spends his life training and when he get faster he gets that injection in his arm. That’s it really.”
Rossi will be eyeing glory this season after he was derailed by a leg break last term.
However, the new Yamaha M1 was blighted by technical issues during testing.
Despite Yamaha’s woes, reigning champion Marc Marquez says Rossi will be a serious contender.
Speaking last week, the Spaniard said: ”Dovizioso, who is already a focused driver, I expect even more from him than last year.
“Zarco is there - and Valentino is Valentino.”
