Arenas suffered not only the pain of breaking his collarbone on Sunday but also the frustration of exiting the Moto 3 race.
The Angel Nieto Team rider was hoping to get back to form after a middling season for Mahindra last term.
But he is out of today’s race in Qatar after a nasty fall during practice.
Arenas, 21, flipped over his bike heading into turn 10 at the QatarGP session and landed heavily on his side.
The Spaniard skidded off the track and was eventually helped up by race stewards.
He was seen nursing his right arm as he headed back to the paddock and was later pictured in a sling.
His team issued a statement that read: “Albert Arenas won't take part in the #QatarGP, but he's already thinking in coming back stronger.”
Arenas had qualified 23rd for the Moto 3 race today with a time of 2m 8.480s - more than two seconds slower than pole sitter Niccolo Antonelli.
