Tech3 Yamaha’s Johann Zarco blitzed his rivals to take pole position for the opening race of the year, lowering the 10-year-old lap record around the Losail circuit.

Jack Miller will start the opening race of the year from 10th on the grid after progressing to the Q2 shootout via Q1, having finished FP3 with the second-quickest time.

The MotoGP race gets underway at 3am AEDT, following the Moto2 race (1:20am) and the Moto3 race (midnight).
