MotoGP champion Marc Marquez insists he doesn't need the "motivation" of switching manufacturers while he is enjoying so much success with Honda.
Marquez has spent his entire premier class career up to now with Honda, winning four MotoGP titles in his five seasons with the manufacturer.
Although his contract expires at the end of 2018, his manager Emilio Alzamora strongly hinted that Marquez will choose to remain where he is.
Now the Spaniard himself has suggested that he has no interest in switching teams any time soon, and that he is still enjoying the "dream" of riding for MotoGP's top manufacturer.
"The motivation is the same as it's always been: to improve and learn from the mistakes of the past”, he said during a recent sponsor event in Madrid. "If I keep winning, my motivation will be the same.
"My dream was to ride with the best manufacturer and I’m living that dream. I’m not looking for extra motivation. I’m not missing any kind of incentives at the moment.
“When you jump into another manufacturer, it's because you need it. I always have to decide what I feel is the best for me in every single moment."
Marquez and teammate Dani Pedrosa skipped the most recent private test in Jerez, having declared themselves satisfied with last month's official post-season test at Valencia.
The 24-year-old, however, cautioned that the team will have to wait until next January's Sepang test to be able to assess its progress, as Valencia traditionally suits the RC213V.
“We haven’t really started the pre-season," added Marquez. "During these months, there is still work to do and everything can change.
“We are in contact during the winter with the engineers. I went to Japan to see how things were going. There are parts to improve and we always do it.
"The first impression in Valencia was good, but we have to wait until we arrive at tracks where we normally struggle to see if we can gain speed."
