Lewis Hamilton: F1 champion reveals friendship with MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi

And the F1 champion has now opened up about his friendship with the MotoGP legend while appearing on Italian TV show Che Tempo Che Fa.

Hamilton drew level with Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost by securing the fourth World Drivers’ Championship of his career this season.

Rossi, meanwhile, has won the MotoGP title on six occasions, as well as being world champion in three other classifications.

Hamilton has now revealed his fondness for the Italian racer and how he mimics him with his own bike.

"When I ride a motorcycle through Monaco, I feel a bit like Valentino," he told Che Tempo Che Fa presenter Fabio Fazio.

"I’m his friend, he's the one I like the most."

Hamilton also opened up on his reverence for another motorsport icon - Ayrton Senna.

"I started watching Senna when I was only five years old with my dad," he added.

"He was my favorite, I had posters all over the wall, I came back from school and I watched his videos.

"My dream was to be Superman or Senna, to do what he did, to be in F1 and to win."

Hamilton will be hoping to go level with Argentine great Juan Manuel Fangio on five F1 titles next year.

The 2018 campaign kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix in March.
