Dovizioso must win the Valencia Grand Prix to have a chance of lifting the world championship.

He must then hope Marquez finishes 12th or below to secure the title.

If the Spaniard does finish in 12th position, Dovizioso will be crowned world champion.

In that scenario, the drivers would have the same number of points but the Italian would have won seven races to Marquez's six.
