With the 2019 MotoGP world championship over and all riders heading off for their winter breaks before next season’s preparations really ramp up, it gives an ideal time to add up all the Rider Ratings to see who comes out on top.

Crash.net’s Rider Ratings weigh up all competitor targets and performances in relation to expectations, rather than purely down to points scored in the championship, to provide an order which doesn’t purely reflect the final riders’ world championship standings.

At races where riders failed to take part in either qualifying or the race (or both) they have not been given a score for that particular round in order to give a fairer reflection on their performances.

A total of 12 perfect 10 scores were handed out across the 19-round campaign, with Marquez picking up five of them on his way to the MotoGP world title closely followed by Quartararo as standout rookie with three 10 out of 10 ratings.

Despite an inconsistent season by his own high standards, Dovizioso picked up two top scores, while Ducati team-mate Petrucci and factory Yamaha’s Vinales secured a 10 each for their respective wins at Mugello and Sepang.

As a result, three of those riders feature at the top of the average MotoGP ratings, while Red Bull KTM’s Espargaro makes a standout appearance in the top four despite a tougher time in the MotoGP points scoring table.
