Valentino Rossi crash: WATCH MotoGP hero face more issues ahead of German Grand Prix - Daily Star - Daily Star

The Doctor has had a torrid few weeks and crashed out of the last three races.

A lapse in concentration ended his Mugello homecoming, Jorge Lorenzo clattered into him in Barcelona and an ill-fated battle with Takaaki Nakagami ended his DutchTT.

Rossi’s team-mate, Maverick Vinales, finally got back on track in Assen and bagged a memorable win.

Fabio Quartararo also continues to defy all expectations despite this being his debut year in the premier class.

“MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi crashed at Turn 1”

Rossi was in the gravel pit again this afternoon after losing control at Turn 1.

Nevertheless, the 40-year-old still progressed to Q2 after completing his hot lap.

Speaking yesterday, Rossi claimed he will be competitive this weekend.

“The day was not too bad,” Rossi said.

“It was quite positive because my pace with the race tyres is not so bad. I’m quite happy.

“I can ride the bike in a better way. The feeling with the bike is better.

“Unfortunately with the soft tyre I was not able to improve like I want and I am just tenth.

“This is a problem. We need to improve this. But the feeling improve and my pace is not so bad.”
